Your role

The mission of the Fortum Design team is to design the best possible service experiences for our enterprise customers. We partner with teams across the organization to improve customer experiences, incubate new services, and cultivate a human-centered design culture and capability within Fortum.

We are looking for a summer trainee within the field of Service, UX or Visual design to join our team during the summer period 2022. You’ll have the possibility to work on various tasks based on your own background, and to learn from our senior designers.

The position is located at our office in Espoo Finland but might require collaboration with our other Design Lab locations in Sweden and Poland.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with the Fortum Design team on various design tasks within the fields of i.e. digitalization, sustainability, energy and mobility. The work will be tailored based on your own design background, experience and interest. It could include i.e.:

  • User research projects; planning, designing interview scripts, conducting interviews and turning data into insights
  • Service design projects; persona creation, customer journey mapping, workshop planning and facilitation
  • Interaction design; concepting and wireframing
  • Visual design; design of new components into our design system / UI asset library, presentations or infographics

What we are looking for

We hope you to be at the end of your studies within relevant field of service, interaction, or digital visual design.

You have already gained basic knowledge in one or more of the following: user research, service design methods, interaction design and prototyping techniques and tools (i.e. Figma, Sketch or InVisionApp), visual design tools (i.e. Adobe PhotoShop or Illustrator).

You are fluent in written and spoken English, skills in Finnish are considered as a strong asset.
