Description
As an Operations, Strategy and Finance Trainee in the Patenting Unit, you will be part of the Technology Standards team, which is responsible for licensing Nokia intellectual property, including patents, technologies, and the Nokia brand. You will work on development projects spanning operations, strategy, and finance, collaborating with experts passionate about shaping the future of Nokia’s industry-leading patent portfolio. This paid internship, lasting 6–12 months, provides continuous learning opportunities, mentoring, and support within diverse and inclusive teams at Nokia Headquarters in Karaportti, Espoo, with flexibility for remote work.

Your responsibilities
• Support investment modelling, cost efficiency studies, and business case preparation.
• Analyse patent portfolio data and related financial investments to drive business decisions.
• Contribute to operations planning development: demand planning, capacity forecasting, supplier performance management.
• Prepare high-quality, data-driven presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with colleagues on patent portfolio development projects and financial planning.
Your skills and experience
• Currently pursuing a Master’s or advanced Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Technology Management, or a related field (active student status in the EU required throughout the internship).
• Experience working with large, complex data sets and financial data.
• Familiarity with statistical methods, data analysis, and programming languages.
• Strong analytical skills, initiative, and a keen interest in drawing business-relevant insights.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive and diligent approach to work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel and PowerPoint).
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
