Combient Foundry launched in 2018 with KONE and Stora Enso to speed up industrial-grade\u00a0innovation by working with startups to create real value for all parties. Since then, we\u2019ve\u00a0 expanded our alliance of like-minded global brands to include AstraZeneca, Scania, Husqvarna Group, Autoliv, Munters, SKF and Epiroc. We work with some of the most capable startup\u00a0founders on industry-pressing, even globally critical challenges, such as reducing waste and\u00a0energy-consumption, and developing autonomous vehicles, robotics, and logistics solutions to\u00a0build the next one hundred years of industries.<\/p>\n

We are now looking for the brightest, entrepreneurial-minded students to join our exciting\u00a0journey as Venture Client interns.<\/p>\n

As a Venture Client intern, you\u2019ll work at the intersection of ambitious startup founders and business development teams of leading industrial brands. You\u2019ll get to learn the following:<\/p>\n

[i] what the cutting-edge solutions in the world are and how the top-tier startups stand out in the\u00a0crowd,<\/p>\n

[ii] what industry-leading companies are looking to solve now and in the future, and<\/p>\n

[iii] how large companies and startups work together to decrease time-to-market.<\/p>\n

In this role, you will be working closely alongside the case team from our Foundry member companies actively facilitating the Venture Client process and showcasing potential solutions.\u00a0You will be responsible for designing and executing startup market analysis (with the global reach),\u00a0analyzing startup deal flow, as well as being their first contact point from Foundry\u2019s side towards the startups involved in the process. In addition, you will be involved synthesizing startup scouting results, and participating in internal business development initiatives. We want to give your as much responsibility in your tasks as you are willing to take, but please keep in mind that this journey will be shared with other interns at Foundry and the support from senior colleagues is always available when needed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

We are looking for people to join us either in our office in Helsinki located at Bulevardi 44, next to Sinebrychoff Park, or at the Stockholm office located on M\u00e4ster Samuelsgatan 56, in the city center. This internship is either from January to May 2025 or August to December 2025. It is full-time, with most work occurring during office hours, though you may occasionally need to accommodate different time zones.<\/p>\n

What to expect from our interview process?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We seek individuals driven by innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset, ready to navigate uncertain and complex industry-wide transformations. We are welcoming interns with all backgrounds and pursue the following framework for all candidates:<\/p>\n

1. Online application<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Describe a situation where you had to take the initiative on something – how did you get\u00a0 others on board? What did you do as the main driver of the initiative? How did you\u00a0 overcome possible obstacles?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      2. Round of interviews<\/strong><\/p>\n

      In this stage, you will have a chance to meet two of our team members in 30-minute interviews\u00a0 each. Like your application, the rest of the interview process will be in English.<\/p>\n

      In the first part of the interview, we will present Combient Foundry to you and let you ask all the questions you might have. We will ask you questions regarding your previous work experience,\u00a0 expectations from the internship, and future aspirations.<\/p>\n

      While in the second part of the interview, let\u2019s discuss open innovation and venture clientships. Together, we will conclude your best understanding of Foundry\u2019s Venture Client \u2013 cycle, stages, and primary goals during each step. This stage includes a short case-type of discussion.<\/p>\n

      3. Homework<\/strong><\/p>\n

      We will provide you with a 1-page description of Combient Foundry in text format. Based on the\u00a0provided information, we will ask you to prepare a 3-slide presentation deck and a 3-minute-long\u00a0 pitch to be presented in the second round of the interview. More information will be provided at\u00a0 that stage, but this should take at most 3 hours.<\/p>\n

      4. Final Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

      In the final round, you will have a chance to present your 3-minute pitch prepared as your\u00a0\u201cHomework\u201d in 45-minute interview with another colleague of ours.<\/p>\n
